My Food Stamps Cookbook, EBT Priced Radical Nutrition
Description:
There's no more important conversation to have with families than the conversation about healthy food. We know that diet impacts well-being, especially when money is short. This training provides the background and language for effectively connecting low-income folks with the resources that can dramatically improve food access and reduce chronic illness. Radical Nutritionist and author of My Food Stamps Cookbook, Rachel Bolden-Kramer presents an introduction to cheap healing foods, while illuminating the bounty of resources in our communities for families who are food stamp or free lunch eligible.

Through movement activities, group conversation, writing and reflection, attendees will garner new ideas for integrating dance as part of their overall wellness strategies. To gain the most from this training, we recommend attending both parts 1 and 2. Please note that the sessions will take place at different locations (part 1 at the San Leandro Library and part 2 at the First 5 Alameda County Conference Center).
